Terms of Service

Last updated: July 14, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Indie Frame Network, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the platform.

2. Description of Service

Indie Frame Network is a subscription video-on-demand platform dedicated to independent cinema. We provide tools for filmmakers to distribute their work and earn revenue, and for audiences to discover and support independent films.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

Indie Frame Network offers three subscription tiers: Fan ($6.99/mo), SuperFan ($9.99/mo), and Fanatic ($14.99/mo). All tiers include the same full access to every film; higher tiers send more of each payment to filmmakers. Annual plans receive a discount.

Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time via your account settings or through the Stripe Customer Portal.

Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact support@indieframenetwork.com within 7 days of a charge.

4. Filmmaker Revenue Share

65% of gross platform revenue is distributed to filmmakers based on a Hybrid Weighted Payout Algorithm. Filmmakers must connect a Stripe account to receive payouts. Minimum payout threshold is $25. Indie Frame Network reserves the right to modify the payout algorithm with 30 days notice.

5. Payouts & Authorized Representatives

Indie Frame Network pays 65% of gross subscription revenue attributable to each film, every payout cycle. Payouts for a film are made to one place: the Stripe account connected to the account that uploaded it.

A film may be submitted either by its filmmaker or by an authorized representative — an agent, manager, distributor, or other party the filmmaker has engaged. Every uploader selects a rights attestation at submission, and represents and warrants that they own or are authorized to license the film and to receive payments for it.

Where a film is submitted by an authorized representative, payouts go to that representative. Distribution of any share to the filmmaker is governed solely by the agreement between the filmmaker and their representative. Indie Frame Network is not a party to that agreement and does not divide, verify, or guarantee any split between them.

Filmmakers who have granted a representative exclusive distribution or licensing rights covering the territories Indie Frame Network serves should not submit their film directly; the authorized representative should submit it, or the filmmaker may submit once those rights have reverted.

If rights to a film are contested, Indie Frame Network may suspend the film's availability and hold its accrued payouts pending resolution. Uploaders must provide documentation of their authority (such as a representation or distribution agreement) upon request, and agree to indemnify Indie Frame Network against claims arising from a breach of the warranties above.

6. Content Standards

All content uploaded to Indie Frame Network must:

  • Be owned by or licensed to the uploader
  • Not infringe on third-party copyrights, trademarks, or other rights
  • Not contain content that is illegal, hateful, or sexually exploitative of minors
  • Comply with all applicable laws in the filmmaker's jurisdiction
  • Be accurately rated (G, PG, PG-13, R, NC-17) and described

7. Founding Films

The first 200 films published on the platform receive permanent 'Founding Film' recognition, including a badge and placement in the Founding Films collection. Founding Film status is a recognition and discoverability designation only; it does not alter revenue share, payouts, or any other term of this agreement.

8. IF Re-Viewers Review System

Reviews on Indie Frame Network must meet minimum quality standards (75+ words per section, ≥50% of film watched). The first three reviews from any account are subject to staff review (probation period). Indie Frame Network reserves the right to remove reviews that violate community standards or demonstrate conflicts of interest.

9. Termination

Indie Frame Network may terminate or suspend your account for violation of these terms. Filmmakers terminated for policy violations forfeit any unpaid balance below the $25 minimum threshold. Balances above the minimum will be paid out within 30 days of termination.

10. Limitation of Liability

Indie Frame Network is provided "as is." We make no warranties about uptime, availability, or fitness for purpose. Our liability is limited to the amount you paid in the last 12 months.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA. Disputes shall be resolved by binding arbitration under the AAA rules, except for injunctive relief in cases of IP infringement.

12. Ambassador Program

Ambassadors earn commissions on members they refer, according to the compensation plan selected when they join the program. Compensation terms are fixed for each referral at the time of attribution; any changes to the ambassador program apply to new referrals only. Earnings for a calendar month are paid on the 15th of the second following month, with a $25 minimum — smaller balances roll forward. Payments that are later reversed, refunded, or disputed (including chargebacks) are deducted from future payouts.
