The Numbers
At Indie Frame Network, transparency is non-negotiable. Here's exactly how money flows through our platform — updated every 5 minutes.
How Every Dollar Is Split
Distributed monthly based on watch time
Earned by Re-Viewers based on quality score
Infrastructure, moderation, development, team
Revenue splits are calculated on Net Subscription Revenue — the subscription income Indie Frame Network actually receives and retains after payment-processing and transaction fees and any applicable taxes. Our payment processor (Stripe) currently charges approximately 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction in the U.S.; the effective rate may be higher for recurring billing, international cards, or currency conversion. These processing rates are set by third parties and may change over time.
The Payout Formula
Designed to be transparent, auditable, and fair to every filmmaker.
How it works, in plain terms
- Every month, 65% of subscription revenue becomes the Filmmaker Pool. Everything below decides how it's divided — never its size.
- 90% is divided purely by watch time: your film's watched seconds ÷ all watched seconds on the platform.
- 10% is a Completion Bonus: films where at least half of viewers watch to the end split this pool, also by watch time.
The exact math:
// Filmmaker receives:
Base Share = Your Watch Seconds ÷ Total Platform Seconds
Your Base = Base Share × 90% of Filmmaker Pool
// Completion Bonus (10% of pool):
Qualify: completion rate ≥ 50% (a view counts as complete at ≥90% watched)
Qualifiers split the bonus by watch time
Minimum $25 to trigger a payout. Balances under $25 roll forward and are included in a future payout once the threshold is met.
Ambassador commissions follow the same $25 minimum and roll-forward: earnings for a calendar month are paid on the 15th of the second following month (for example, July earnings are paid September 15).
